About us

We are very passionate Community Interest Company dedicated to supporting those who served and continue to serve. The armed forces continue to make selfless commitments on a daily basis for the peace and tranquillity we all enjoy. The Commonwealth Legion CIC has been incorporated in England and Wales by dedicated service personnel both serving and veterans of Ghanaian descent who came together to help make a difference in the lives of our our heroes and the communities in which they live.



OUR CORE VALUES 

Our very existence is underpinned by our core values of good governance, evidenced-based
decision making, fairness, respect, Integrity, caring for members and others, transparency, interdependence, openness and being nice to members. Members are expected to adhere to our Values including but not limited to the following 


Good governance: all activities undertaken by the organisation will be done in the best interest of the community it serves. Democratic principles, transparency and accountability will be the hallmark of all undertakings of The Commonwealth Legion

Evidenced-based decision-making: All decisions of the organisation will be underpinned by evidence. Decision makers should review at least three options including an option for “do nothing” prior to selecting their choice. All options should have a
clearly articulated pros and cons.

Fairness: we will always ensure our work and duties will be carried out in a manner that is fair and unbiased.

Respect: We will respect all members’ views and value each member equally. We will also have respect for others who are not members of The Commonwealth Legion

Integrity: we will always be honest in whatever we do and how we do it.

Caring for others: we believe benefits should also be extended to the wider community and our sense of social responsibility as veterans and service personnel derived from our cultural heritage and experiences will help members’ to care for others in their respective local communities whenever possible.

Transparency: We will always strive to be transparent in order to learn from the past, improve as an organisation and maintain credibility of our stakeholders.

Interdependence: our members will depend on each other to help advance our aims and objectives

Openness: We will always be very open about our dealings and ensure every member understands our undertakings. We believe in democracy and will give our members a say in the way the organisation is run and members will have the right to be heard in the process.
